Beast.Mode Battle Vol. 2 - summary

Summary

What was the programm of this evening? It started with warm-up cyphers. There was a Hip Hop/House-cypher and a breakdance cypher. It was amazing how respectful the dancers were and how much fun and love they were sharing through dancing. It was a pity that the breakers seperated themselves and made their own cyphers. But they had skills. It was nice to watch you jam. A twelve year-old bboy was just brilliant.

After the warm-up cyphers, the pre-selections started around 5 o'clock in the afternoon. It began with a short welcome speech by MC Godfather. Before every round, he read out loud who battled who. He then introduced the procedure ("The name of the first dancer I call goes to my left side and the second one goes to the right side. The dancer on the left side always begin the round.") of the pre-selections and finally the dancing part started. The breakdance pre-selection came first, it went on with the House pre-selection and ended with the Hip Hop pre-selection. A short break should give the audience time to recover and the judges time to choose the last 16 of their category.

After the break, MC Godfather read again out loud who battled who in the last 16. He brought structure in the Beast.Mode battle. It again went like this: Breakdance Battles came first, afterwards the House Battles and in the end the Hip Hop Battles. Before the next break, the quarterfinals took place in the same order: Breakdance -> House -> Hip Hop.

Before the seminfinals took place after a short break, there had been a lot of show acts. Judge of the Hip Hop battle The K danced to "Fu-Gee-La" by the Refugees, it went on with the other judges of the same category Carlos and Cimmo. Next were the judges of the breakdance battles starting with Bboy Valo and ending with Bboy Chau-Lin. Bboy Jacker had been injured and not able to give a show. After this show acts, the judge of the House battle BranuOne began his show.

Marvelous War with the organisator's brother Makro and Benno made everyone at the battle smile. Why? Benno was 6 years old! Man, he had so many fans after his show case. :D

Rowdy Tight Eyez who had made the Krump workshop gave a special show and represented the Krump community from Germany. This was powerful!

After him came Mark & Carla who showed a complex couple dance. Both of them gave fresh wind into the urban dance battle. Mark was also the DJ of this evening. Thanks for comming!

And the last show act was the duo Eastblok steps Ines & Gee Lah. The Eastblok steps are part of the rapper crew Eastblok Family. Ines also participated in the House and Hip Hop battles. What a sexy show the two beautiful dancers gave!

Le Cat Jimenez was the most impressive one. She participated in all three categories and qualified in all three categories at least for the quarterfinals. In the Bboy Battle she was quarterfinalist, in the House Battle semifinalist and in the Hip Hop Battle she was the finalist.
